our story
We matched in January 2022, on a dating app meant to be deleted. Bonding instantly over our shared values, love of film, and pop culture, we quickly realized we had found our perfect match. Engaged in October 2023, now we're preparing to tie the knot!
“Guess who’s got two thumbs, speaks limited French, and hasn’t cried once today? This moi.”
That was Lexi's quirky reply to my Hinge profile prompt: "The one thing you should know about me is: I love two things in this world – everyone and television."
Intrigued, I was. Could it be? Another 30 Rock enthusiast! Such a rare find. A sharp, witty comedy that hits all the right notes. I couldn't help but wonder if she was the real deal. Spoiler alert: Beyond!
Our banter evolved into an engaging exchange of wit and intellect. After a few back-and-forths, I proposed meeting for coffee the following Saturday. We rendezvoused at a local coffee joint (LDU: home to the best flat white in Dallas), just a stone's throw from my place. Nervous? Absolutely. I was early, per usual, but had an particularly anxious feeling about this one.
The moment Lexi walked in, I was floored. Phew! No catfishing here. She was (and still is) even more stunning than her profile hinted. An awkward hug ensued, probably screaming "first date" to everyone in the joint, including the baristas. Fear not, I took care of the tab – a gentleman's duty – and we settled into a cozy corner booth.
Her eyes captivated me immediately – a mesmerizing shade of blue, reminiscent of a Mykonos sky (30 Rock reference, of course). We clicked effortlessly. Shared interests, upbringing, aspirations – it felt like reconnecting with an old soul. I felt a sense of peace. It was, dare I say, perfect. I couldn't help but entertain the thought: could she be the one?
Two cups of coffee, a slice of banana bread shared, and three hours later, our date came to a close. I escorted her to her car, bidding farewell with a friendly side hug, true to my Christian upbringing, and proposed, "Let's do this again."
And again, we did. Which brings us here, to our wedding website! Wow, I suppose this Moi found the one.

My Second Date with Christopher
Words by Ms. Alexis Allman
If this is what online dating is like, then it's not so bad after all.
This was my thought after my first coffee date with Christopher, which was (and forever will be) the only Hinge date I had ever been on. I knew that having three hours fly by at a coffee shop was a good sign, but I wanted to wait until the second date before I got too excited.
Just two days later, I walked into the bar of D.L. Mack’s to the sight of Christopher sipping an espresso martini (I’m not sure if this helped or contributed to the second-date jitters). I remember that he asked how my day was twice and I pretended not to notice, so endeared (and flattered) by his nervous energy.
We found a way to our table and quickly picked up where we had left off at LDU. We discovered a shared childhood (and current) obsession with Harry Potter. I learned that Christopher was also a theater kid and had even starred as the title role in his community theater production of Willy Wonka (much more prestigious than my role as Oompa Loompa #4). It seemed that the points of connection and similarity would never stop coming, to the extent that I wondered, I think we might be the same person.
Another three-hour date later, we suddenly looked up and realized we were the only ones left in the restaurant and the staff was ready to close shop. Snapped out of our own little world where time had stood still, we hurried out of the restaurant to say goodbye and I went home to journal all my feelings about the evening. I wrote of our extraordinary compatibility, the warmth Christopher emanates, and how good his cologne smelled (Bleu de Chanel, for those wondering).
I’m not one to believe in love at first sight, but I do believe in love in hindsight. As I eagerly anticipate our marriage and a lifetime of loving Christopher, I’m grateful to have documentation of the moments our love took root on a Monday night pizza date.
